Riots.

I have had to steer clear of the news for the last couple of days. I was absolutely appalled by what i saw on Sunday/Monday. I swear i watched and read so many disgusting stories of violence, theft, murder, disrespect and general vulgarity that i just couldn't take it anymore. I was sat watching TV on Monday evening when i heard some shouting outside. It was just a quick holler and then there was nothing. This, however, did not stop me from checking the locks on my front door and panicking that somebody was going to get me. It didn't stop me from having nightmares and wondering whether somebody would come and get me in my sleep. It genuinely really did scare me.

I can't even imagine what it would be like for the people that are actually in the middle of it all - the people in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and all of the other places that may not be so well reported at the moment, but who are still living in fear.

I genuinely am so shocked by what is happening.
What appalls me even more is that people are making excuses for this behaviour. Some are saying that it is the attempts to cut the deficit that has made people more desperate and has somehow triggered the looting. I strongly disagree with this!
I dont even think that 'looting' is the right word to use! This is theft. Simple as that. These people are seeking to grab things that don't belong to them, with no consideration for anybody else in the process. Greed - that is all this is. Pure GREED.

I, for one, am disgusted at the sheer cheek of these 'human beings'.
I hope that they are all very very ashamed of themselves.

Poverty is not to blame. Many people live on the poverty line and this gives them some appreciation for what it is like to work for something; what it is like to save every penny to be able to afford something they really want or really need; to live everyday, not knowing where the next meal is going to come from or whether they will be able to clothe their children. There are people out there that have consideration and respect for others. They understand that to take from someone for their own selfish gain, takes away from somebody else. They understand that that 'one TV' and that 'small amount of cash' is what a family relies on to put food on the table.
These are the people that should be remembered. The people that, despite being tarred with the same brush by the media, are sticking to their morals and living a decent life. Sticking to their principles and having some respect.

I am so disgusted in the people that are carrying out these crimes.
If they were ever worried about the tax increases and the budget cuts, they would understand that this looting is only going to work negatively on the economy

Talk about cutting off their noses, to spite their faces.

DISGUSTING.

  1. It is beyond disgusting. These 'people' are a disgrace, and I hope that every single one of them is punished in one way or another. I saw Manchester today and it saddened me to think people who live here have destroyed our city.
I am so proud of the police though, they have caught so many of the scum bags already! And everyone joining together to help clean up the mess. At least it proves there are still some good and caring people about. And thank goodness for that x
